Introduction
Hi, parents and students of KLA:
My name is Wei-Hsiu Huang, 黄唯琇. I was born and raised in Taiwan. I am an SDSU Aztec and have received my teaching credential through the Master of Education Program at National University. This is my fifth year working at KLA, teaching students from TK to 8th grade. Before I joined the team, I had been teaching Chinese to heritage speakers at San Diego North County Chinese School for 7 years.
In the class, students develop their Mandarin language skills through interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication. Collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are promoted in learning activities. Authentic materials are used in the classroom to facilitate the connections and experiences to the Chinese language and culture. At the end of the school year, students will be proud of their language skills and knowledge of Chinese events and culture. Most importantly, they have FUN learning Chinese!
