My name is Ms. Muñoz, and I would like to welcome you all to another new and exciting year of learning Spanish. As you know, I teach Spanish here at KLA to all grades, TK-8th. I am so excited to get to know you all and continue our journey of mastering Spanish.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There, I graduated college from Millersville University with a degree in Education and Spanish, with a minor in French. I also completed my Master’s Degree in Education at Wilkes University. A few years ago, I moved to San Diego with my husband and our two cats. I have been teaching Spanish for many years and I absolutely love it! In addition to teaching, I also coached girls field hockey and lacrosse. One of the things I love most about teaching at KLA is the opportunity to work with so many different grade levels. It is amazing to see you grow from year to year.

One of my favorite things to do is travel! I have been so blessed to be able to see so many new countries or cities and to experience the true beauty of nature or being immersed in a new culture. In addition to traveling, I also enjoy reading, cooking, salsa dancing and spending time at the beach.

This summer I was able to do some more traveling with my husband and my parents. We went to Yellowstone National Park and The Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming and Montana. The parks were absolutely breathtaking with views I have never experienced before. We saw a lot of wildlife inclduding, bison, elf, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, bears, and a variety of birds and fish. My family and I hiked and enjoyed some amazing sights such as waterfalls, geysers, mountains and natural thermal hot pools. In addition to my trip, I was able to relax by the beach with a book almost everyday. I feel refreshed and ready for the new school year!

In Spanish class, our goal is to learn the ins and outs of the language, including speaking as well as learning about culture and geography. I expect students to respect others, work hard, do all their classwork, participate in class, and most importantly, have fun learning the language.
